Is The Hills: New Beginnings Scripted Star Whitney Port Clues Fans In On Shows Authenticity

MTV clued fans into a little secret about The Hills when the reality TV show ended its run in 2010. The show was severely scripted.

Since the big reveal, several of The Hills stars have shared the depth of the fakeness on the show. Kristin Cavallari admitted all of her storylines were fabricated, especially her interest in Justin Bobby.

One of the most talked about moments in show history was when Lauren Conrad turned down a summer internship in Parish. She chose to spend the summer at the beach with then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler. It was all fake!

Whitney Port recently spilled the producers had her go to LAX to film one scene indicating she got the internship. In real life though, she did not go to Paris. Nope, it was a piece of television created drama.

As The Hills: New Beginnings premiere date approaches, fans can’t help but wonder if the revival will be as scripted as the original. Port, who is part of the new show, is dishing just how much-scripted drama will unfold on the new show.

“It’s more basically that they filmed all the stuff and then probably in the editing they were missing certain conversations that happened off camera. They just needed to fill in certain blanks,” Port explained to AOL.

Last fall when the revival was announced the former The City star spoke with Cosmopolitan regarding the same hot button topic.

“I definitely don’t think it’s going to be scripted Producers are really going to look at what’s actually going on in our lives. There’s probably enough happening in all of our lives that it will speak for itself and [drama] won’t have to be created. Fans and viewers can see right through the fake stuff,” she explained before filming even began on the revival.

Only time will tell if Whitney Port’s assessment of The Hills: New Beginnings being scripted or not is correct. One thing is for sure. The cast does have enough drama on its own, so producers should not need to create more.

The MTV show has not even aired yet, and the feuds are already brewing. Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag are already fighting with Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, and Whitney Port. They may be older but the cast, minus newcomers Mischa Barton and Brandon Lee, already knew each other and several of them have unresolved beef from the previous show.
